We’re Hiring! Church Administrator Position

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Lake County (UUCLC) is hiring a part-time church administrator. This is a newly-created position, and so job duties may evolve. The administrator is responsible for general office management, and all files will be maintained on site in hard copy and/or on the UUCLC office computer. While work will be primarily on the premises, some work from home may be considered. Working on Sunday is not currently required, but that could change depending on the needs of the congregation. Hours may vary, with the expectation being 10 to 20 hours per week. Hourly pay of $15 may be negotiable based on experience.

The administrator will report directly to the minister and will maintain open communication with the Board of Trustees and the chairperson of the Building and Grounds committee. The candidate should not be a member of UUCLC and need not be a Unitarian Universalist. However, ours is a liberal faith and the successful candidate is expected to respect our beliefs – including LGBTQ rights.

Requirements:
Works independently and takes initiative.
Communicates effectively and discreetly with leadership, staff, congregants and the public, on the phone, in writing, and in person.
Organizes and manages documents in hard copy and/or on the computer.
Performs general bookkeeping tasks – including payroll and employee income tax reporting.
Performs computing and communication tasks using the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Gmail and Google Drive, website content management (WordPress), and social media (primarily Facebook).
